Watch List – 4/14-20: Your Friendly Neighborhood Rehearsal

Television The Rehearsal - S2E1 (Max) Nathan Fielder's brain gets me excited in a way that few artists (scientists?) do. Logan must be the same way, cause he pitched The Rehearsal to talk about now that Aussie Survivor is over. Listen to our podcast episodes here: https://yourfavoriteepisode.buzzsprout.com/ (this week’s is…

Watch List – 4/7-13: Almost Halfway Through ‘The Studio’

Television Coachella (YouTube) Watching music festivals on television is one of my secret favorite pastimes. It's a great way to see folks you love perform, and one of the best places to discover new music (aside from soundtracks, of course.)You can watch replays on the Coachella YouTube Channel... and head…

Watch List – 3/17-23: What to Watch on Apple TV+ Now That Severance is Over

Television The Righteous Gemstones S4E3 (Max) No show makes me say “jesus christ” more than this show. So, yeah, I understand religion. Severance - S2E10 (AppleTV+) This was such a satisfying finale. I laughed. I cried. I gasped. I felt vindicated. I was surprised. Questions were answered. Questions were asked.…

Watch List – 3/9-16: Bring Out the Egg Treat!

Television The Righteous Gemstones S4E2 (Max) Okay, so this one will most likely be on an od watching schedule, so I think it gets it’s own post now! This is the spot where you will find it, probably Tuesday. Severance - S2E8 (AppleTV+) The only note I took for this…

Watch List – 3/3-9: The Righteous Gutters

Television The Righteous Gemstones S4E1 (Max) What a piece of art for a first episode. This could be a short film on its own, from the cinematograpy to the direction to the music to the writing and mostly, to the performance. Reminder: When I fall in love with a character,…

Watch List – 2/24 – 3/2: Oscar Night + A Masterpiece

Television The Oscars (Hulu) Here are my picks and here are my thoughts. Did they trot out the accountants this year? I don't recall seeing them. Fun fact: I once considered being an accountant to get the job of tabulating the Oscar votes. Then I realized I do not like…

Watch List – 2/17 – 2/23: Fantasy High & Fantasmas

Television Fantasmas (MAX) I watched this because I loved Problemista and wanted to see what else Julio Torres had for me. The answer: a brand new obsession with an incredibly talented writer/director/actor/everythinger. This show has alighted my brain in ways that I wasn’t expecting. There are so many of the…

Watch List – 2/10 – 2/16: Fantasy High & Sarah Cincinnati

Television Severance - S2E5 (AppleTV+) OKay here are my thoughts/theories/etc: What is an obligement session? Are they related to what the MDR folks are doing? Or is this another department? I assume it is a balancing of the tempers of some sort. Is Ms. Huang is aging faster than normal?…
