The Drama (Theaters)
I watched this movie for free on opening day thanks to my AAA24 Membership
Cannot stop thinking about this movie. My brain has been begging for a black comedy this dark for ages. Logan and I spent over an hour talking about it the other day, and we could have kept on talking. It begs for conversation. Bring back original movie ideas, please.
When this is streaming, let’s plan a movie date. Yes? Yes.
Merrily We Roll Along (Netflix)

This was fantastic. I just wish there weren’t so many close-ups. I wanted to watch a Broadway show, not a Broadway show pretending to be a movie. When I hear “Pro-Shot”, my brain wants to see an HQ capture of the show as it exists onstage, not some ‘edited into a movie’-looking thing.
All that said, I loved this. It moved me emotionally, and all the performances were incredible. In love with what they did with the costumes, too.
More Broadway pro-shots, please!
Butters

At the end of our South Park. Rewatch, good old Butters Stotch might firmly land himself a place on my elite “Favorite Fictional Characters of All Time” list. Spoiler alert: Butters firmly has a place on that list. Overlooking a couple of problematic storylines, I love this construction paper fella.
Honestly, this full South Park rewatch was incredibly rewarding. Throughout all 28 seasons, I was not bored. I was sad when we were done.
Because I wanted to spend more time with Butters.
Ania Magliano (SNL UK, Peacock)
I might have a new talent crush.
She “Seth Myers smirks” in the cutest way and KNOWS when she lands a good joke. Paddy Young is also fantastic, and I’m really enjoying this SNL UK journey.
The whole cast is wonderful, and I think they go further than the US version. My favorite host so far has been Nicola Coughland, who was obviously a HUGE SNL fan and was unafraid to do anything. I already loved her because of Derry Girls, and I love her even more now.
Jack Grey (SNL, Peacock)
The Jack White/Jack Black episode of SNL was a goddamned delight.
Tuna Casseroles
I cannot stop making/eating these. They are pretty simple. Here are my musts for tuna noodle casserole:
- rotini pasta
- green peas
- too much (by normal people’s standards) garlic
- parmesan cheese
The rest is pretty much just a whim from there.
Ed Baldwin (spoilers)

(again, spoilers) IS DEAD FINALLY. It was an emotional, fitting end for him, but boy, did I cheer. And then immediately felt bad about it.
The Pitt
Whatever will I do without Dr. McKay and Dr. Whitaker to remind me that good humans are doctors sometimes?

If I could pick any fictional doctor to be my personal doctor, it would 100% be Dr. McKay. She’s calm and respectful and knowledgeable and clearly cares about her patients and coworkers in a really unselfish way.
Mickey’s Sendoff (The Comeback, HBOMax)
I wasn’t expecting to sob until the finale of The Comeback, but I needed TISSUES for episode 3.
This whole season is a legit masterpiece. I love seeing Paulie G back and his and Val’s more mature relationship. I laugh out loud every episode at Mark’s journey, but still empathize with his feelings. I cringe and love and cringe and am disappointed in Valerie. I just adore this show so much.
Here is an incredible piece of art perfectly capturing Mickey’s final goodbye. Yes, I was crying when this aired… and I’m tearing up just thinking about it right now.
My Friends (Apple TV)
Shrinking is over for another season, and I will miss the time spent with my friends.
Riot Women (Britbox)

This was a cathartic show, and I really and truly need more seasons of it, immediately. Before I even knew this was a show, I recorded a podcast with EngErotics about Perimenopause and menopause. While Mickey was editing it for us, he found the below song, not knowing it was for a TV show. Then we randomly found this show while browsing AppleTV, which only had the first two episodes for some reason.
If you are a human (or love a human) who is going through perimenopause or full-on menopause, WATCH. THIS. SHOW. You will understand so much more about what it feels like to live through this weird/terrible/amazing portion of our lives. It is worth the Britbox subscription, which is fine because you should also watch…
Extras (Britbox)

The first couple of episodes, I was like, “yeah, this is fine, it’s gonna be a bop.” By the last episode, I was fully immersed in these people’s lives and found myself to be surprisingly emotional. I also found myself gobsmacked at Ashley Jensen’s talent. I am in awe of her.
Margot (Apple TV)
Margot’s Got Money Troubles is FANTASTIC. I hate Michelle Pfeiffer’s character, even though she plays her so well. Probably because she plays her so well. Elle Fanning has been one of my favorite comedic actresses since The Great, and I mourn that show’s loss every single day. Nick Offerman is also top-notch, but he always is.
Vic Michaelis (Dropout TV)
Always and forever. Very Important People is the highlight of my every two weeks.
An Update (My stove top)
I am 98% to a perfect NYC bodega breakfast sandwich recreation.

Here is what is on it:
- Whole Foods croissant
- from the bakery, not the frozen section
- I am trying those next
- I think that will get me the extra 2%
- thick-cut bacon
- I cannot find pork roll near me
- american cheese
- individually scrambled and cooked eggs
- one for each crossiant
- I have tested making a big batch of eggs or one at a time. It really is worth the extra work.
- Butter
There are a lot of steps involved, and it takes me over an hour. It’s an hour well spent.

I started watching Riot Women and immediately came here to search if you had talked about it! I am on episode 5 now and I love it! It gives grown up Derry Girls a bit…
It’s so good. I feel them so much. I’m really hoping for more seasons and soon. Grown up Derry Girls is a great description.
