‘Sleep’ing with Max Richter: Month 8

Some things happened this month, y’all:

  • One night the speaker died mid-sleep.
  • One night my watch wasn’t charged enough to wear to bed.
  • I had the lowest Sleep Score of my friggin’ LIFE.

The night my speaker died mid-sleep was a restless one. I kept waking up and lying there in a daze, trying to get back to sleep using all the tricks I’ve discovered throughout this experiment. It didn’t work. It was a shit night of sleep. I’ve never forgotten to charge my speaker again.

Look. I didn’t have a good charging month. I had a couple of late nights when my schedule was all wonky. One of these nights, my watch didn’t quite rest on the charger the proper way when I went to take a bath. I didn’t even notice it hadn’t charged, so I put it on, and it died mid-sleep. I did not count it as a zero, though, I just left it blank.

I will share the harrowing (not really) tale of the 29 below the scores.

The Playlist:

Sleep Scores (and Dreams)

Here are some dreams I remembered well enough to write down:

  • One!
    • I dreamt that I walked oiutside to do my morning tomato check but…
      • All of my plants were chopped down.
      • Right in the middle of each stalk.
      • Like a giant came by with a mower and cut the tomato grass.
    • Luckily I woke up and my tomatoes were perfectly fine and continue to be delicisiou.

On that 29… Welp, “Hadestown” was released for digital at home viewing and I stayed up very late to watch it, but then I woke up like normal the next day. Dumb move for my sleep stuff.

Also, for sure, cold weather gives me better zzz’s. I look forward to seeing my winter scores.

Oh, one more thing that I will keep mentioning over and over: if you are Max Richter, please let me know when you will be coming to Detroit for an overnight sleep concert, because I will need to be doing one of those. Okay? Okay.
