Of course, I didn’t watch this on the night it aired, because I watched the Oscars instead.
Now, it’s Monday morning and I’m ready to take a trip to Thailand. It does feel kind of weird to be watching this show in the daylight.
As per usual, here are my live reaction thoughts and below will be some theories:
- Do you watch the recap when you watch this show? I do, because I think it gives the viewer an idea of what to look for in the upcoming episode.
- The theme song has not improved nor has it grown on me, yet.
- Lots of tsunami talk in this season.
- We’re doing dreams! (this should have been obvious from the title)
- I want to see Fabian perform by the end of the season.
- What is Rick up to here? I know he’s trying to get to her hubby, but this is an interesting track to take.
- I think Rick is kind of scared of his feelings for Chelsea/her feelings for him.
- Why are the other two putting so much pressure on Laurie to have a fling?!
- Was that Merritt Weaver on the first message?!
- Gaitok is adorable.
- Pam is ecstatic that the Ratliffs are giving up their phones.
- They cast the Ratliffs so well. They LOOK like a family.
- The camerawork in the trio yoga scene was so fun.
- Ooh Mook and Gaitok!
- Mook performed at the Oscars last night, she was part of the James Bond tribute!
- These scenes with Rick and Amrita are incredible. By the end of the series, he’ll see some sort of breakthrough, I bet.
- Welp, looks like Rick is DEFINITELY there to kill the owner’s hubby.
- Breathtaking cinematography once again
- Aside from the theme song, the rest of the music is aces.
- Take me to a posture class, please.
- “You meet people on their plane of reality. But what is your reality?”
- That’s a thinker, both for Lochlan and myself.
- Left foot on right knee, protecting yourself with your female side.
- I normally rest my right foot on my left knee. Does this mean I’m protecting myself with my masculine side?
- Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) resembles a young Winona Ryder so much.
- I don’t like these meanies being mean to Gaitok.
- I feel Rick in this moment.
- “Are we ever gonna have fun again?” Poor Chelsea.
- Daddy Ratliff popping a Lorazapam.
- Snake SHOW!
- I can SEE the intrusive thoughts forming in Rick’s head as he watches the cobras. Mike White is an artist.
- This crazy motherfucker.

- Ooh, they are judgey about Kate living in Austin and going to church.
- Belinda recognizing Greg/Gary!
- Looks like next episode is a boat trip!

Watch no. 2 thoughts:
- Lochlan being comforfted by ladyboys on the beach in Victoria’s dream.
- I think Kate being so quiet during the breakfast conversation with the Russian energy healer is very telling, especially combined with her later churchy comments.
- AND she seemed to be texting under the table. I wonder if the other two ladies will see these texts some day.
- That is definitely Merrit Wever on the phone for the first message. I know that voice anywhere.
- Dunno who Chuck is though.
- Some fellow named Scott Galloway.
- Gaitok is adorable, but has potential to be a “nice guy” who does nice things, but doesn’t really know who he is at all.
- Corrective posture – this is probably because he is not presenting “masculine” enough for this family
- Re: “Gary’s” ex-wife killing herself?! BAH!
- You can tell that Rick clearly cares about Chelsea… or does he just care that he doesn’t get in trouble?
- I think Chloe knows Gary isn’t really Gary. She was rubbing his leg something fierce.

Theories
- The Ratliffs
- I think Saxon is gonna lose his V card to Pam the butler.
- We’re gonna see Victoria run out of Lorazepam, I bet.
- Lochlan is not struggling with coming out as gay – he’s coming out as trans or nonbinary.
- He wasn’t looking at his bros butt in a sexual way in the first epsiode— he was observing his masculinity.
- Victoria is gonna run out of Lorazepam.
- Chelsea & Rick
- She’s gonna “almost die” every episode?
- Chelsea had two death scares that were snake related:
- Episode 2: robbery while looking at a snake necklace.
- Episode 3: bit by a cobra at a snake show.
- This makes me wonder if she almost dies in the opening of episode one, but doesn’t.
- We’ll see if this pattern continues in episode 4.
- Regardless, protect Chelsea at all costs. I love her.
- Rick will get out of his depression and we’ll see him shine (this is a hope more than prediction.)
- Chloe is gonna try to take Saxon for some money.
- The trio
- Kate voted for Trump. Or her hubby did at least.
- Kate won’t be their friend at the end of the trip.
- Belinda
- I hope she finds true love and happiness with Pornchai.
- Belinda, you in danger, girl.

- Fabian will perform by the finale.

- There will be no tsunami—we saw the resort calm and normal in the opening—well, until the gunshots, at least.
