Confession: I’m a Monday morning White Lotus watcher. For the past four weeks, every Monday, I wake up, brush my teeth, do my Morning Pages and then fill up my coffee and bring it upstairs to the Princess TV Room to watch my programs.
It’s only one program, though. Then I get straight to work, y’all.
Welp, this week, my Monday morning routine has a new addition. Mickey messaged me last week telling me that Coffee Mate released a line of The White Lotus creamer. There are two flavors: Pina Colada and Thai Iced Coffee and I have the latter in my coffee cup right now.
The coffee by the way? It’s from a local Palenstinean spot called Qazazz and it’s among the best coffee I’ve had in my life.
Okay, now I’m hitting play on this episode and sipping my coffee.
Theories after watching:
- The Ratliffs
- Victoria used to be a much more hands-on mom, but when the kids started growing up and ‘making fun’ of her for doing those things, she did what she needed to do to distance herself from them. To, like, protect herself emotionally.
- Victoria has her shit together more than the family (and the viewer) thinks!
- Lochlan is gonna do something terrible and Saxon will help him get out of it. Yes, I meant to say those names in that order.
- Chelsea & Rick
- Rick will have some sort of “Come to Jesus” moment when he meets his father’s murderer. I don’t think it will end in violence.
- I think Rick and Chelsea might end up staying in Thailand, but not like one of the LBH’s, I think they are really gonna find a feeling of home.
- Or maybe they just find it with each other?
- The trio
- I’ve seen theories that Laurie’s daughter is Portia from last season, but that’s a total reach, I think. Also WHY would Portia’s mom even consider visiting The White Lotus after her daughter’s recent experience in Italy?
- Jaclyn is definitely gonna be very self-destructive and sleep with someone, mostly because Laurie won’t do it so that Jaclyn can live vicariously through her
- Belinda
- Belinda neeeeeds to confess what is going on to Pornchai so that he can help protect her.
- The staff
- Gaitok is the center of everything.
- He’s either gonna die, get fired, or save the entire day.
- Pam has chemistry with everyone somehow. I cannot explain it, but I hope it pays off.
- The Theme Song
- Okay, so I had a whole theory forming after I finished watching this week’s episode and it’s all about the Theme Song!
- What do we miss about the theme song? The woo woos.
- Who do we miss about the show? Jennifer Coolidge.
- Now, after watching Ep 4 for the first time, there was an itch at the back of my brain that said, “There are no woo woos because there is no Coo Coo (Jennifer Coolidge).”
- Then I thought – when Belinda gets close to a clue about Tonya McQuoid’s murder, there are lil woo woos in the music, because I recalled them popping up occasinally in the score.
- I rewatched episode 4 to make confirmation of this.
- Belinda, looking up things on the computer to discover about the murder: woo woos
- Belinda – locking eyes with Greg in the lobby – woowoos
- I AM ONTO SOMETHING.
- I think, at this point, that I am 100% correct and the Woo Woos are representative of Tonya McQuoid.
- Then, Mook and Gaitok (I think) are walking at the end and I hear the Woo Woos.
- Theory busted. (for now, I’m still keeping an eye on this.)
Thoughts while watching:
- Ooh, this creamer is quite good. The ladies in Ceramics like French Vanilla creamer, so I have been having that every Wednesday, and oat milk on my normal days. This feels like an exotic treat.
- While I still miss the “woo woo”s in the theme song, it is growing on me. I can see how it would hit in a club. I’m just sad I didn’t have the big huge emotional reaction to it like I did season 2.
- Aww, Jaclyn can’t get ahold of her hubby that she is so in love with. I wish friends would just be honest with each other, they’d have a much better trip.
- Belinda’s son is on the way!
- So worried that Belinda might not be there to greet him, though, omg.
- Aww, shoot your shot Gaitok. Good luck at your meeting. I’m worried for you, too.
- Oooh, Checkov’s Gun!
- Saxon wants Lochlan to be like him so badly.
- “Just chug it”
- I feel like Saxon is gonna be saying the exact same thing to Lochlan with booze at some point.
- I think this is the first family I would like to see what happens to AFTER the vacation. I want to see how they are received after the club after this whole blowout.
- Also, they are acting like Victoria doesn’t normally take the Lorazepam in every day situations? Like this vacation and the boat trip especially are special social situations that would trigger her anxiety thus necessitating the Lorazepam.
- I never knew how to spell that word before and now I feel like I am an expert.
- Balls!
- The monkeys again.
- “Things happen in threes” – Chelsea
- Chelsea pouting.
- I pray I never have friends like Jaclyn, Kate, and Laurie.
- Especially with the way they are pimping out Laurie.
- Protect Chelsea at all costs, please. Mike White don’t hurt me.
- “You can let go of your story. You can escape the karmic cycle. Find peace in this life. I have hope for you.” This is a message that I have for someone, too. I hope they hear it and digest it. I am also so drawn to Rick’s character.
- Protecting worker’s rights! We love Chelsea.
- This soundtrack slaps, though. I’ve discovered a lot of new artists because of it.
- Victoria is good at networking it seems. Maybe she is the business person in the family and Tim is the face.
- I need Chesea and Victoria to hit it off so they can have a side story, please please please.
- Do Rick and Timothy know each other? Or is Timothy just struggling that much? I thought I saw panic there.
- Also, how shitty he is gaslighting his wife about her pills just so he saves face? I hate it.
- HA! Valentin sent the three friends to a lower budget resort. I’m dying, this is hysterical.
- Talk to Pornchai, Belinda. Don’t keep quiet.
- Okay good.
- OKAY BUT IT IS A BIG DEAL BELINDA
- Ooh, what does Piper need help with? Oooh, she wants to move here!
- Saxon is hella creepy and I still think he is a virgin.
- I think Timothy is gonna let something slip. He is FUCKED UP.
- Goddamn, Mike White really is a genius. I thought Victoria was a constant pill addict this whole time, like 24/7, but I do not think that is the case anymore. I think we were seeing unfamiliar place Victoria.
- OKay, on Jaclyn’s lead, the three friends have butlernapped Valentin.
- I love Piper’s dress.
- TIMOTHY IS GONNA TELL PIPER MAYBE?!
- I hate the fact that our society makes men have to put up a front instead of just showing their emotions. Everyone would be so much happier if we were just able to be free.
- God, Chelsea is AMAZING.
- The way Rick telling his story helped Chelsea put so much into perspective silently. Aimee Lou Wood is an incredible actress and Mike White is an equally incredible director. I love this opening up for her.
- Water fights in the street?! This could be interesting.
- The way these kids are treating them is I think a direct result of the way Kat (Leslie Bibb) treated the first kid.
- I love this waterfight.
- Yes, Belinda, get to googling.
- I think we’re gonna see a bit more of the real Victoria now and I. Am. EXCITED.
- Oooh, Timothy is thinking about staying. It’s gonna be an interesting dinner when Piper says she wants to stay. Especially since I feel the main reason she wants tostay is to get away from her family. If they decide to stay too, I wonder if Piper’s feelings will change.
- Poor Piper.
- Poor Chelsea.
- How did they get out of the store and get dry? I want to see that side story, too!
- Leslie Bibb is doing an exceptional job with her performance. Mike White is so good at getting top notch performances.
- Victoria sounds SO much more together now. This is gonna be a fun ride.
- I have such a soft spot for Pam for some reason.
- MookMore wholesome looks stunning. What a lovely costume.
- Gaitok keeps overhearing Timothy’s conversations. I worry for Gaitok.
- Oh, shit, the Ratfliff’s assets are gonna be frozen?! What if their credit cards start getting declined.
- Okay good, Gaitok was not in there.
- But his gun was?
- Yup.
- Fuck.
- What the hell is Timothy gonna do with this?
- Greg do not hurt Belinda.
- Ooh, this theme at the end is banging. I hope the theme song in the beginning takes note.
