Theories after watching:
What if this is the first season everyone stays in the location after the week is over? I can see it happening.
Gun count: 2 – 1 with Tim and 1 with Rick
This season is the least “sexy” of all White Lotus seasons. I’m not mad about it.
Also, the care with which Sam Rockwell’s monologue was treated was amazing. I love that Rick was an active listener throughout, with as little judgement on his face as possible. Only surprise. I like seeing men listen to each other.
I love watching people treat each other with care – and not jump directly to judgement.
Here are my theories:
- The Ratliffs
- Victoria has her shit together. I’m convinced the Lorazepam is for vacation mode only, and she is much more wise than she’s given on.
- Saxon and Lochlan is gonna blow up in a way we aren’t expecting. Like, Saxon is the way he is because I think he does have feelings for the fellas maybe? And he acts like that to cover it up because of the way other men in his world treat each other.
- I hope this brings a softening of Saxon, but I think it will be bad, instead.
- I think someone in this family will die, sure.
- I think the gun is brandished by Victoria or some monkeys.
- Timothy will survive and have to deal with his poor decicions.
- Chelsea & Rick
- While I’m disappointed in Chelsea for not speaking up about how creepy Chloe was being with Saxon, I still think Chels will stay true to Rick and not cheat on him.
- I think that incredible conversation between Rick and his friend in Bangkok will put lots of things about his life in perspective
- The trio
- What if Valentin and his friends try to sell compromising pics of Jaclyn? I think there is something to this theory.
- Is Kate the only happy one?
- Belinda
- She’s gonna uncover something sinister about Fabian, who I defintiely do not trust right now.
- The staff
- Gaitok is not good at his job. I think he’ll do something dumb to try to save it.
- The Theme Song
- The season was a slow burn, that didn’t quite fit the vibe of the previous seasons. It feels a lot less traditionally sexy than previous seasons, as well as a lot less boisterous.
- I feel the same way about the theme song.
- I am hooked on both, now, though. I’ll put on the theme when I want to get all hype and it works.
Oh, and also, y’all, there is really no guessing what Mike White is up to. I know I will be wrong about 99%, if not 100% of these predictions.
It’s mad fun though.
Thoughts while watching:
- Okay, I’m all in on the theme song now. It gets my hype. Mike White was right… it just had to grow on me.
- Ahh, Gaitok. I think he’ll be able to figure out it was Mr. Ratliff pretty easily.
- And he does.
- Oooh, Piper is telling them she wants to stay. She has barely been there, though, which is interesting. I think she just wants an escape from her family, which is a feeling I am familiar with.
- Oooh, Piper lied about her thesis.
- “You want to live in Taiwan?!” Give Parker Posey the Emmy now, please.
- GET IT GAITOK.
- And by it, I guess, I mean in trouble.
- I do not like the way the Saxon talks to Lochlan so much.
- Chelsea, do not cheat on Rick, please.
- Ooh, especially not with Lochlan.
- I feel like something bad will happen to Chloe. And good, because she is being very predatory right now and it is making me uncomfortable.
- I honestly do not care, as long as Chelsea comes out unscathed.
- Oh, Bangkok!
- Oh, we are at the Trio of friends.
- Laurie is a pretty great flirter.
- Ooh, Fabian, thanks for giving Belinda the heads up.
- If I could afford it, I would do the same thing, Piper.
- YES PIPER.
- Ooh, the crowd is noticing Jaclyn. And now she’s gonna show off.
- She is so jealous of how actually free Laurie is. God, Carrie Coon is incredible.
- Belinda, I am so worried for you.
- Yes, talk to Fabian.
- This exchange between Fabian and Belinda is cracking me up.
- “You may be mistaken, and we shouldn’t even be gossiping.” FABIAN, no.
- “In a year, you could end up with a completely different set of values” -Victoria. YES PRECISELY.
- What is Tim even gonna do with the gun? I really don’t understand this logic.

- I am weirdly not worried for Rick. I think he’s gonna be just fine and in fact better than ever.
- SAM ROCKWELL! What a scene that was.
- Hmm, Kate refusing the shot and Laurie drinking it. I wonder if it was drugged? The looks between the boys are intersting.
- Fabian is a weird manager, offering Gaitok antacid for his PTSD.
- Sarah Catherine Hook and Parker Posey play incredibly against each other.
- Oh, Tim is gonna kill himself, I think.
- Saxon is doing the drugs after saying something like, “No, I am the drug”
- Answer Chelsea’s call, Rick.
- Yikes at taking pills and not knowing what they are. How is Saxon the smart one here?
- I don’t think he really took it.
- Ooh, what’s in the black bag, Rick?
- Ooh, Valentin’s friend is in troubbbble.
- But they are inviting them back to the Villa! And Kate does not agree.
- OH YAY BELINDA TOLD PORNCHAI
- Belinda asking Pronchai to stay.
- I have trouble with meditation unless I am actively reading a book by David Lynch. I blame my aphantasia. However, when I can get my brain to a spot where it is not spinning, that’s when the best stuff happens. I was very good at getting there in the pool a few summers ago. And now, I’m getting good at it during stoop time. It was hard in the winter, though. My brain needs space and quiet. And outside.

- No, Saxon definitely did the drugs. He is entranced by the fire.
- OOH, or is Kate gonna sell a paparazzi pic of Jaclyn as punishment for this? IDK, I think the paparazzi will be involved. Or Jaclyn’s celebrity status at the very least.
- Laurie!!! Also, love seeing boobs like mine on TV. Makes me feel seen.
- Lochlan was okay when he laid back, right? RIGHT?!
- Holy shit, this Sam Rockwell scene. This speech! And then it went somewhere I was not expecting, but I am here for it.
- “Are we our forms?” What a good question.
- Looloos! Not related to Tonya McQuoid, so my theory is busted.
- Ooh, the trio is going to a boxing match tomorrow!
- I need Belinda to be treated gently. She deserves it.
- Chelsea, I feel you, I feel you, I feel you. You deserve for your pain to matter, too.
- “The little magician” I think there is something to that nickname. Is someone going to disappear?
- Jaclyn what are you doing and why? Bleh. Boring and gross and unneccessary.

- The brothers kissing I was not expecting, but honestly should have.
- Saxon liked it, Lochlan was a joke.
- Yeah, Tim is gonna end it? How many bodies will there be this season? Yikes!
- Good thing Victoria came out there to stop him.
- Tim’s “expectations” talk is the real shit.
- Mike White is so good at showing the importance of talking to avoid violence.
- Does Victoria KNOW about his wrongdoings? I honestly cannot tell. Parker Posey is playing this so close to the chest.
