That Girl (Peacock)
We are on season four and I now hate Ann’s dad more than I do Donald Hollandaise.
Top Chef (Peacock)
This show is more for inspo than anything. I could barely tell you a single contestant’s name.
P-Valley (Starz or Amazon Prime)
Two more weeks of our discussion club and I’m so happy with how it’s been going.
Movies

Lisa Frankenstein (Amazon Prime)
This was a bop. It feels like the 90s are making a small comeback with movie vibes right now and I’m here for it.

Men’s Gymnastics Team Finals
I half-watched these while I worked this afternoon, cause I’m a big fan of Fred Richard.
I knew going in that there was a slim chance we would win a medal – our first since 2008!
But I didn’t expect to be scream yelling at my screen during high bar routines. Or to have tears running down my face as we wait to see if we won silver or bronze.
It was bronze, but, yo, I’ll take it. What a fun watch that was!

Women’s Gymnastics Team Finals
Okay, so the question here wasn’t who was gonna win the gold medal, but who was gonna take home the Silver and Bronze.
At first, before the qualification round, France was considered a shoo-in for one of the team medals. They were the home team and have a really strong program this year.
They fell to pieces during qualifications and didn’t make it into the top 8 teams. Even their star, Melanie de Jesus Dos Santos, missed out on an All-Around berth. It was a messy night for them.
So that opened things up for other teams – like Canada (who has never won a gymnastics medal at all), Great Britain, and Brazil.
But you know who took that silver medal?! Italy, in a huge surprise. They have a gorgeous team of artistic athletes this Olympics and they hit every single routine. I made notes of some of the ones to watch in the Individual Apparatus Events
The bronze medal was a bit more of a nail-biter, though.
One of the Brazil gymnasts suffered a scary fall on bars during warm-ups. Flavia Saraiva was mid-swing when she abruptly fell off, landing in a jangle of limbs. Well, one of those limbs (her knee, I believe they said) made contact with her eye.
Flavia still competed, with a bandage over her eye and a quickly-forming shiner. She looks badass and I can’t wait to see how more badass she looks in the All-Arounds on Thursday.
Brazil looked rough at the beginning. Going in they were my favorite to win gold (I like to be contrarian sometimes, and I just really love the Brazil team right now), and then I was worried that they would medal at all.
And then Great Britain and Canada were both doing so well.
China really had a bad day. Like always, they were favored for a medal. However, they did not live up to the hype at all.
Brazil was rocking in, like, fifth or sixth place after every rotation. Then the final one arrived – Vault. This is where Brazil SHINES, y’all. The first two vaults were solid with a step or wobble on each.
Then my girl Rebecca Andrade comes out there and knocks it out of the park with a vault that scored over 15 points.
That’s all they needed to secure the bronze.
I won’t be able to watch the Men’s all around, because I will be at ceramics class. I might catch the end afterward, but D will be keeping me updated throughout. I am, of course, rooting on my Fred Richard.
Men’s Gymnastics Individual All-Around
I was able to watch the end of this when I got home from ceramics. I was sad because my buddy Fred Richard didn’t have a great showing, but he’s still got a chance in 2028!
Women’s Gymnastics Individual All-Around
I was rooting for Rebecca Andrade to win gold, but she did not. She won silver!
Simone won gold and Suni Lee won bronze, which made me tear up more than gold and silver.
Men’s Floor Finals
The Philippines won their very first gold medal ever. And their first gymnastics medal, ever. Their teams, both women and men, are ones to watch in 2028.
Women’s Vault Finals
JADE WON HER BRONZE!!!!!
Simone and Rebecca won Gold and Silver respectively, as expected.

Men’s Pommel Horse Finals
The Irish gymnast was pretty impeccable and I hope he wins a medal! It will be a first for Irish gymnastics! His name is Rhys McClenaghan and I’ll be keeping an eye on him.
HE’S IN FIRST RIGHT NOW.
Next up is old Clark Kent himself Stephen Nedorosick. Let’s see how he does. I’m watching this one live, obviously.
I AM SCREAMING. Stephen did so well. I’m sure he can’t wait to put his glasses back on. I’m thrilled. I hope he gets the gold, man, but these scores are wild.
Stephen is in third after his score. I hope he can pull out a medal.
Also, it is my birthday today and I am getting my current favorite local pizza. It is “My Honey Valentine” from Major Tomato in Allen Park and here is the description:
Honey Valentine is topped with BOLD pepperoni, Hot Honey, Mozzarella, Red Sauce.
It’s perfect. It’s thin crust and it’s a banger of a pie.
My only dilemma right now is how to manage to get a cake here for me.
I’m just waiting out the pommel horse scores now.
Okay, one gymnast left and we have Irish with a gold, their first gymnastics medal ever, Kazakhstan with a silver, THEIR first gymnastics medal ever, and MY BOY STEPHEN NEDOROSICK WITH THE BRONZE.
I don’t want to cheer for this but the last guy fell off, so I think that’s our final.
Hell yes.
