If you want more information on this sweet deal, I made a page for that.

This lollipop was inspired by a trip to the site of a real-life stigmata miracle in Canton, Ohio. I felt so at peace when I visited the Rhoda Wise House and Grotto. I make it a point to get a souvenir from places I love, and the only thing they were selling was Holy Water… so I bought some!

I gave some to friends, kept some for myself, and then had the thought: Can I make a Holy Water lollipop?

I asked all the Catholic folks I know, and the resounding response was, “Yes, there is no problem with this.”

Then one of my favorite humans asked her Priest if it was REALLY an okay thing to do. The response: “Yes, people get salt blessed to cook with all the time. I don’t see why this is any different.

I felt like I did my due diligence, so I made the Holy Water candy. And it’s pretty good.

The Icon:

Juicy grape meets holy water in a playful nod to communion wine. We consulted a priest first, just to be safe: sweet, fruity, mineral-kissed, and just this side of divine.
